Volunteer Position: Experienced Fundraising Officer

0ur charity is to help Chinese orphans who adopted by western families to trace and access Chinese culture and heritage. We also strike to help those children in destitute condition in rural [/size][/font][font=Verdana][size=6.5pt]China[/size][/font][font=Verdana][size=6.5pt].
‘Culture for children’ is our mission. Our service is also reaching out to any Chinese children overseas in Chinese communities.

[list][*][size=3][color=#000000][font=Times New Roman]prepare fundraising documents and other support materials, e.g. flyers, text messages or a dedicated website [/font][/color][/size][*][size=3][color=#000000][font=Times New Roman]approach potential and existing donors to persuade them to donate for the first time or increase their donations [/font][/color][/size][*][size=3][color=#000000][font=Times New Roman]maintain lists of donors; understanding of the Data Protection Act and the various privacy regulations is essential for this [/font][/color][/size][*][size=3][color=#000000][font=Times New Roman]prospect for new donors, whether individuals or businesses [/font][/color][/size][*][size=3][color=#000000][font=Times New Roman]understand and exploit the tax beneficiaries offered by the government to charities, e.g. Gift Aid [/font][/color][/size][*][size=3][color=#000000][font=Times New Roman]make grant applications [/font][/color][/size][*][size=3][color=#000000][font=Times New Roman]manage the fundraising programme’s budget [/font][/color][/size][*][size=3][color=#000000][font=Times New Roman]occasionally travel to head office to explain policy and motivate staff and volunteers[/font][/color][/size][*][size=3][color=#000000][font=Times New Roman]possibly recruit and manage volunteers.
